In building a home you will have to make choices and sometimes difficult trade off’s. Be cognizant that you are not making only decisions for the present but for the future. Your challenge is to make good decisions now that can pay off for you in the future.
You may want to ask yourself questions such as:
• How long do I plan to stay in this home?
• How important is it for me to get what I want now versus perhaps delaying getting higher end amenities in the future?
• Does this house have the ample square footage for my family now and how does it suit my family’s future plans?
How long do you plan to stay in this home? Is this the home that you want to spend the rest of your life in or maybe you want to flip in a couple of years? Tastes, colors, styles and trends all change over time and so do you.
So how important is it for you to get what I want now versus perhaps delaying getting higher end amenities in the future? It is important to consider what you really want in a home. Are you willing to delay some amenities that you might really want now to get into the home you can afford and need now? Are you willing to give up on that solid surface countertop for a laminate counter top? Can you live with a vinyl floor instead of tile? The choice is up to you?
